Feedback literacy has recently developed as an essential and growing concept in education
theory and practice. However, limited literature exists on feedback literacy in the context of
dental hygiene education, warranting further investigation. The purpose of the study was to
evaluate the effectiveness of a feedback literacy course presented to undergraduate dental hygiene
students. The research design was a randomized control trial comprising a convenience sample
of 65 dental hygiene students. The Feedback Literacy Scale was used in a pre/post-test design.
All participants took a pre-test in the fall semester of 2024 and early in the spring semester of
2025. The experimental group completed a feedback literacy module consisting of an in-person
feedback workshop, an online resource center, and a follow-up in-person refresher course.
Statistical analysis of the data was completed to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention in
increasing feedback literacy in dental hygiene students.
