Abstracts
In an effort to improve RELAP5-3D modeling of single-phase gas flows, experimental data demonstrating deteriorated heat transfer due to laminarization effects were used to develop new heat transfer correlations. Correlations correcting for buoyancy-induced and acceleration- induced laminarization were developed and added to the source code of RELAP5-3D. Using statistical analysis and comparison of results from RELAP5-3D simulations, the accuracy of the correlations was verified. Keywords: ADTHT, BDTHT, laminarization, RELAP
